ABOUT ME

I'm Allison Bucher, a Sound Designer from New Orleans, Louisiana.

​I am currently  a Masters of Fine Arts in Theatre: Sound and Digital Media Candidate at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville graduating in 2025. 

I believe that theatre has the ability to touch its audience in a way that is direct and unique. In a live environment, we have the opportunity to interact with our audience on a more intimate level. As a sound designer, I am captivated by the emotional impact that this type of storytelling can have. I believe that sound design is uniquely positioned to have a profound emotional effect on audiences, and can engage with them in a vulnerable and immersive way. As a sound designer I aim to create immersive sonic environments that enhance the emotional impact of the story being told through evocative music and soundscapes. In creating the sound design for a production, my goal is always to support and enrich the story being told rather than distract from it. I want my audiences to feel enveloped in the world and the story they are experiencing.
